Furniture and shelving for the newly renovated Youth Services area at the Boynton Beach City Library

There’s been an air of excitement and a flurry of activity as child sized tables and chairs are delivered to the newly renovated Boynton Beach City Library. Sporting colorful sea horse, turtle, fish and manatee motifs, the Youth Services area is nearly ready to welcome children. The youngsters will have their own program room and computer area. Comfortable booths in the Teen Zone have been installed and, in a few days, staff will start moving books and DVDs into the newly decorated building.

You still have time to gather up an armload of books on your favorite subject and check them out. Better hurry though, as the library temporarily closes to the public from February 16 through March 6. Program events will continue at the library during the move. The northeast doors of the library will be open for access to the program room only for scheduled events listed on the library’s calendar at www.boyntonlibrary.org.

Newly installed booths in the Teen Zone at the Boynton Beach City Library

A Grand Opening celebration will be held on Saturday, March 7, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Everyone is invited to come out and see the new library. On Monday, March 9, there will be a Ribbon Cutting at 3:00 p.m. For more information, please call 742-6390.
